◎ Monthly values of upper air observations at specific layers in individual years (1981-2010) in China

This dataset is derived from nationwide CLIMAT TEMP files which are developed under the dedicated project on the basic upper air data according to CMA development and reform plan. It is based on the Upper-Air Climate Data Statistic Compilation Method (1981-2010) (distributed version). The dataset includes 10-day climate values from 87 upper air meteorological stations in China in 1981-2010. The dataset includes 10-day, monthly, annual climate values of such weather elements as pressure, geopotential height, temperature, dew point deficit, specific humidity, atmospheric density, wind direction and wind speed.

  • The data sources taken in this dataset have undergone rigid and detailed quality controls, those problematic and controversial station files have been rectified, and missing observational data have been filled in. Therefore, the integrity of data sources is high with reliable quality. During development of the dataset, the compilation software has gone through rigid tests. The statistic results have undergone strict assessments and verifications. The overall quality of the dataset is quite good.
